meet the artist

Based in Sudbury Ontario, I have a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and education. As an artist, I am inspired by the endless possibilities that different mediums and themes offer. My art is a constant process of investigation and revelation rather than adhering to a single, predetermined style. A major influence in my work is the eccentric nature of avant garde couture and concept makeup. I enjoy creating my works using a juxtaposition of materials on human subjects in a collage style.  Photography, textiles, image transfer techniques and cosmetics are a few of the mediums that are often paired to create large scale artworks.

Alongside visual arts, I am also a special effects makeup artist specializing in creature design, where I explore the intersection of imagination and technique. And if you ask me, there’s no better canvas than a human face!

Sharing knowledge and skills.

I have been an educator for 15 years, with experience ranging from middle schoolers to University students.

Teaching the skills and aptitudes necessary to thrive in the arts industry has been my main focus for a good part of my career. I also love to teach art skills for the pleasure of discovery, for the health benefits, and heck, just because we want to! Creativity is not innate, it is learned and is accessible to all.

Let’s GO FORTH AND CREATE!
